Here is the CVII Newsletter update sent in early November from Jeanene (CVII founder), what a profound story!

We would like to share our Christmas miracle that came early.
On November 15, 2011, the day started very normal; our 100 children got up, got ready, Went to school, and arrived home from school at 3:15. The External students leave at the same time, and many are not picked up until much later.
All the properties at CVII are connected to the neighbors by a shared Wall; so thieves cannot pass from place to place. There is no grass, land, roads, or even driveways. All of our buildings are back to back With theirs. Bogota is called a concrete city.
Sarah Gnagey and I (Jeanene) were in Leviticus Working on Christmas presents and children’s school uniforms. One of our mothers brought her sister to ask if We would help her too. Both mothers expressed, with tears rolling down their cheeks, the gratitude they have for CVII, and how we have saved their lives. They do not know where they would be today if We had not helped them, and they came to say thank you..........
And then the ñrst explosion hit.
At 3:30 PM there was a massive explosion in a Wax factory directly behind our Genesis and Exodus Children’s Homes.
It started with a BOOM, and then followed by another Boom and several more. Sarah and I were just feet away from the massive flames and had no idea what was happening. The flames got bigger, and there were 9 explosions that followed with very toxic liquids. The firemen arrived quickly from 8 different stations with 50 firefighters trying to put out the massive emergency. The flames were reaching as high as our 5-story Exodus building.
The children and staff Were evacuated and Went to the park, and school roll call Was taken to make sure NO one was left behind. All Were present. They were so obedient and did as they had been taught in our fire drills. The older children helped With the younger by rocking them to help them stop crying and telling them it will be all right. Not one was hurt or burned or even suffered from smoke inhalation.
Richard and I remained on site to allow the firefighters to get all their hoses through our buildings to the fire. We stood there almost in shock knowing a lifelong legacy was about to melt before us. Tears streamed down our faces, and with our hands extended, we pleaded to God for mercy to stop the huge fire from consuming Children’s Vision. All the children were praying. It was out of everyone’s hands... only God could save us... and HE DID. After 2 hours the fire was put out.
God did several Miracles: All the children were safe; He held the fire in his hand so it did not burn our homes; He sent a gentle wind to drive the smoke away from ourhomes; He sent the rain to help the out; and He used the firemen to save our lives. We had prayed for 15 years in our Prayer Chapel where the blaze was the highest and hottest... but the fire did NOT come upon us nor consume us; those prayers kept us all safe.
After the fire was out, the firemen came and told us how God had truly saved us. There were 2 more HUGE tanks with gallons of kerosene that did not explode. They said if they would have exploded, it would have been as if an atomic bomb had been dropped. We all
would have died.
We all are so Very grateful to be alive and to be FAMILY.
The following are the damages our properties suffered: 50 windows broken by the heat and explosions in Exodus and Genesis house, Prayer Chapel Wall melted, second floor of Leviticus “Mama Jeanene’s Kitchen - completely destroyed, 3 roofs need repair, Christmas presents burnt, gas, Water, electric pipes all burnt. Estimated loss is $60,000.
The neighbor did not have insnrance, and CVII insurance only covers injury to children and loss of life.
Thank God for His Love and Mercy. No lives were lost nor was anyone hurt. Buildings can be rebuilt, lives cannot.

Our children have given us several çards, and I Want to share what they wrote:
“Mommy & Daddy...THANK YOU because when you fight for us.... You are even willing to give up your own lives to save ours. We love you, your children.
“God, Thank you for giving us parents that risk their lives to save ours. We love you mom and dad”
“Mommy, we are so glad you are alive and exist for us....May God keep you safe always”
“Lord, today we want to give you thanks because on the day of the explosion you did not let anything happen to our mommy; with your protective hand you covered her with your precious blood and kept her safe. Thank you God.
P.S. Lord, We really want to ask you for another kitchen for mommyl... We want our wonderful cookies and cakes again. Amen (signed by all)
Our rolling pins and cookie cutters did NOT burn!
We will be doing a New Building in Leviticus, which was already in the plans... We just did not think it would be this soon. It will be a four-story building: First floor parking lot, other floors will be: 2. Mama Jeanene’s NEW Kitchen 3. Industrial Sewing floor 4. Multi use center
lf you would like to help us in any Way, please make your checks payable to CVH and please put on the memo: “Leviticus Project”. All your help would be greatly appreciated.
Love, Jeanene, Richard, and all our children at CVII
